Kenneth made our reservation and even created custom menus for our group of 11! He ensured that the room was beautifully decorated and ready for us! “ It’s at the back of the Indigo hotel, harder to find from the street, easier from the waterside. It’s a nice spot next to the river with large windows for great views. They also have outside dining that is just as nice, if not better. I started at the bar with some drinks, then went outside and enjoyed the weather with some appetizers. Everything was great, the bar staff were exceptional, food was delicious and the staff were attentive. It’s a great place to get some drinks and a meal, of a great spot to start out before you head out in Old Town. ”

“ Bravo for the most upbeat, professional and gorgeous full on restaurant in town. We tried others and this was far the best sit down dinner. The lighting, decor and energy from the staff is positive and caring.The food is excellent and menu has everything for both serious diners as well as casual meal. If I lived in Old Town that bar would be my second home because it's just beautiful and the bartenders and waiters are truly genuine. It's clear the GM and management are excellent at what they do because the place is professional and real, everything just flows with great service and it has style. Also a perfect spot for any special event and since in the hotel Indigo a lovely and convenient stay right there. ”

“ This restaurant is one of Old Town’s fine dinning staple establishments. Anytime I make it to the Waterfront I come to grab a bite and cocktail here. Fantastic location, view, decor, staff, and of course drinks and food. Today we had lobster bisque and Hummingbird cake, both were delicious, high quality and great recommendations from our bartender. I also enjoyed an excellent gin cocktail recommendation from staff and wow great choice! I cannot wait to be back, always excellent energy and delicious bites. ”

“ Hummingbird has cemented itself in our hearts. We were fortunate enough to not only have a wedding here but we experienced the best weather you could possibly ask for. Pair that with the tremendous service from Hummingbird and folks we consider as world class and it was as spectacular of a night as you can imagine. None of what we experienced could have happened without Kenneth. What an absolute rockstar from vendor communications, food tastings, walk through, local recommendations and just overall being a standup guy. Kenneth had his staff working all weekend, from assisting with our tent vendor to treating each and every guest like an A list celebrity. The location is awesome. Our guests loved looking out at the Potomac and being walking distance from EVERYTHING in Alexandria. Now as the groom the following statement is to be expected, the drinks and bar service were fantastic. The apps served during the cocktail hour were devoured. Crab/corn fritters, fried oysters and feta watermelon were ate like the world was coming to an end. Everyone came back from the buffet with short rib and rockfish. Here I thought there be two distinct groups and everyone wanted both options! The atmosphere was great, having guests dance the night away outside and having a pirate ship pass by on the Potomac as we said our “I do’s” could only happen at Hummingbird. Kenneth and his staff were great. Would recommend the spot to anyone and everyone. Also having ate breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner at Hummingbird over the weekend I can attest that the options are great and there are no wrong moves. “ Everything was good. There signature is not so good but I can’t say bad too. I like there pistachio cake more in dessert. Also for vegetarians there wild mushrooms bolognese pasta is must try. We also love the bbq grilled chicken. Also in appetizers, fried oysters and trio of dips is must try. Perfect for date night. ”
